introduction to miracles

HOLYGHOSTREVIVAL.ORG
Wholeheartedly believes that the All-Powerful God, the creator of heaven and earth rendered countless miracles in the past and that the same God still performs mighty miracles even in this 21st century.
God’s Holy Word, the Bible, breaks down the Word, “Miracles” into a multitude of categories. In order to speak about each and every one of them here, we would have to use almost all of the 66 books of the Bible. In order to give God His Due, we are therefore going to first find out what the Word, “Miracle” means. Then, we will show you through His Holy Word, some of the great miracles the Lord has done for His people: yesterday, and how He is continuing to bless His people with similar miracles today. The modern everyday dictionary defines “Miracles” as:
“An event or action that apparently contradicts known scientific laws and is hence thought to be due to supernatural causes, especially to (be) an act of God.”

One of the most popular miracles from the great I AM came in the book of Exodus – the book of many miracles.  Let us propose you are a very successful army general; you have won practically every battle you have fought, and have many medals and commendations to show for it.  But in this one particular battle, your army has taken a great beating at the hands of the enemy, and the only way out is to retreat and to regroup.  But in so doing, you miscalculated, and here is the situation: There is an army of 10,000 soldiers on foot and on chariots, “hot on your trail” chasing you, and you have just ran out of space!  Directly in front of you is a great sea.  You cannot back-up, nor can you turn to the left or the right.  This could be the “end of the road” for you.  You refuse to surrender, so, what do you do?
Now we will tell you that the general’s name was Moses, and what he did was to call upon the name of the Lord God Almighty for help, and our awesome God of heaven and earth answered with power!
In Chapter 14, verses 1-22, we read how the Lord God Almighty dried up the Red Sea. But the miracle did not just stop there! What are within those verses is the fact that the Lord God put by day, a pillar of a cloud, and at night, a pillar of fire behind Moses to protect them from the approaching enemy!  Then, after the last man, woman, child and animal had crossed the Red Sea successfully, God removed that protecting pillar of fire. Pharaoh’s men immediately took advantage of this and thinking they were now going to “finish off the Jews once and for all,” so they pursued them into the now dried bottom of the Red Sea, relentlessly!

  • In verses 26-28 it is written: “And the LORD said unto Moses, Stretch out thine hand over the sea, that the waters may come again upon the Egyptians, upon their chariots, and upon their horsemen.

What did God do?

27. And Moses stretched forth his hand over the sea, and the sea returned to his strength when the morning appeared; and the Egyptians fled against it; and the Lord overthrew the Egyptians in the midst of the sea. 28. And the waters returned, and covered the chariots, and the horsemen, and all the host of Pharaoh that came into the sea after them; there remained not so much as one of them.”

We are not going to cover Chapter 15, but in the very first verse, it tells how the nation of Israel blessed God by singing a song of appreciation to Him, and it is called “The Horse and the Rider.”  It is still sung in some churches to this day. Not considering what man’s view is, this is not only one of the most popular Miracles from our Lord, for His people, but one of the greatest, if not the most phenomenal Miracle ever displayed by the hands of Almighty God!
Now, let us tell you of a very recent miracle of today: There was a man driving his truck and a very violent electrical storm occurred.  His wife had told him to read Psalm 91 before he started his route.  Lightening struck the truck and caused it to bounce down into a ravine.  His truck was totally destroyed, and all the communication equipment in the truck had been wiped out.  A call for help came from another truck driver who happened to witness the accident.  Despite the fact that his 18 wheeler caught fire and was dreadfully obliterated, yet our good God rescued this man from the cold hand of sudden death.  God miraculously stretched His mighty hands and prevented the fire from consuming him.  Because the man called upon the name of The Lord, invoking Psalm 91 before the lightening hit the truck, he walked away from this battle without a single solitary scratch!  Anyone else, in that same situation, in our opinion, would have died instantly!  Glory be to God in the highest!
Continuing in the Book of Exodus, Chapter 16, we find out in verses 3 and 4
3.  The Jews had run out of food, and they cried to Moses about their predicament.  And the children of Israel said unto them, “Would to God we had died by the hand of the LORD in the land of Egypt, when we sat by the flesh pots, and when we did eat bread to the full; for ye have brought us forth into this wilderness, to kill this whole assembly with hunger.”

What did God do?

4. “Behold, I will rain bread from heaven for you; and the people shall go out and gather a certain rate every day, that I may prove them, whether they will walk in my law, or no.” You would think that they were happy now because their bellies were full, but we find out in Chapter 17, that now, they had run out of water! Once again they were hostile against Moses, because, of “How he had led them into a land where they said, we and our cattle would die of thirst!” Moses was beside himself and cried out to the LORD about this, and he did not say, Why me, Lord? No.  He called upon the Holy One of Israel for help for God’s chosen people!  There were no Aspirins or Advil’s in those days, by the way…

What did God do?

We turn to quote scripture again to show you the miracle of God, the love of God, the mercy of God, and how He tells Moses to “get water for the people.” Verse 5 says this: “And the LORD said unto Moses, Go on before the people, and take with thee of the elders of Israel; and thy rod, wherewith thou smotest the river, take in thine hand, and go. 6. Behold, I will stand before thee there upon the rock in Horeb; and thou shalt smite the rock, and there shall come water out of it, that the people may drink. And Moses did so in the sight of the elders of Israel.”
Immediately Moses followed God’s directions and their desires were satisfied.  This is yet another miracle through the unfailing hands of the all powerful God!  What does this lesson teach us about “how we are,” even today?  The fact is, that without Christ in our lives, we will be constantly having problem after problem, never seeing the end of the tunnel, always complaining, and many times, simply having pity parties for ourselves.  Yes, problems will still come, but when you have The Creator of the Universe walking hand in hand with you, we ask: Is anything too difficult for our Lord?  Are His arms too short?
Recently, a sister in the Lord was complaining about having severe back spasms and had to be hospitalized for it.  She was crying out to the Lord for Him to have mercy on her soul.  Yes, the good Lord had mercy on her precious soul, but He miraculously healed her body as well.  She was eventually discharged from her sick bed.  Hallelujah!
The next miracle comes from the Book of Joshua 10, verses 12-14 when Joshua was facing defeat by five Kings that had united their armies to come against God’s chosen people.  When Joshua prayed, he commanded, in front of all the Jews, that the sun and the moon would not move until their enemies were totally destroyed.

What did God do?

The sun and the moon stood still until Joshua’s men totally avenged all of their enemies.  It didn’t matter “how long it took”; the miracle was the fact that neither the sun nor the moon moved until all of Israel’s enemies were totally obliterated to the last man.  Our God is a miracle working God, there is no doubt about it then, and even more so here in the 21st century.

Then there were three great servants of God who refused to obey the command of a King who passed a law that ordered all of his subjects to bow down and pray to a statue that the King had made. So a law was passed saying whenever the gong went off, all of the people, in reverence to the King, had to bow down and worship this statue.  These men of God told the King to his face, that they would only obey their God who was able to come to their rescue.  But they also said to the King: even if our God did not choose to save them, they would not serve the King’s god, nor would they bow down to that statue!  That was bold, and it was brazen from these men of God-even in those days!  The King had no choice but to put them to death, because that was the punishment for disobeying the law; so he placed them into a fiery furnace that can only be described as “the hottest place on earth” at that time.  In the Book of Daniel, the 3rd Chapter, we find the greatest King on the face of the earth: Nebuchadnezzar, who had made this proclamation; and he did, in fact, put these three servants of God into the furnace!  Scripture taught us that the fire was so hot that it killed the men the King had ordered to put the three Hebrew men into the furnace!

What did God do?

Turn to the scriptures to show you the miracle of the Lord, from Daniel 3, verses 23-25:

  • “And these three men, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, fell down bound into the midst of the burning fiery furnace.  24. Then Nebuchadnezzar the king was astonied, and rose up in haste, and spake, and said unto his counsellors, Did not we cast three men bound into the midst of the fire? They answered and said unto the king, True, O king.  25. He answered and said, Lo, I see four men loose, walking in the midst of the fire, and they have no hurt; and the form of the fourth is like the Son of God.”

There are actually two miracles in these scriptures: One is the fact that these three Hebrew men survived and were not burnt, and the second is the fact that even the “greatest” King of the earth proclaimed that he saw a “fourth man in the fire, and he is like The Son of God.”  Those are miracles!  How could one account for the fourth person, Jesus Himself, in the fire, when in reality, only three were thrown into the furnace?  There is no other way to explain this issue, than to simply conclude that it is a miracle.  These are the miracles we are talking about and such miracles could only be performed by Almighty God.  HolyGhostRevival.Org passionately believes that only our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, could perform these miracles, and such miracles still exist today!  Glory be to God in the highest.  Amen!
Next, we have another sister who has a son who was retaining fluid throughout his entire body, with no sign of relief in sight.  He had to be hospitalized because of this.  Surely, it was as if he was literally being blown up like a balloon!  The sister prayed for him and anointed his chair with anointing oil.  When the son woke up, he announced to everyone, “My mom prayed for me and I’m healed!”  The prayer of his mother actually provoked God to perform this awesome miracle for her son.  Again, the most powerful God of the universe is still a miracle working God and He has no comparison of any kind.
When Jesus Christ walked this planet in His human form, he performed countless miracles on a daily basis.  Just His Holy Presence – living among, and teaching His disciples was a miracle in itself!  These people didn’t have a clue who Jesus really was until after His prophetic resurrection and their baptism by God’s Holy Spirit, as recorded in the Book of Acts.  Jesus Christ was a miracle working God then, and he is a miracle working God today; and He will continue to be a miracle working God tomorrow, next week, next year and throughout all eternity!  Hallelujah!  Approach Jesus Christ with all your needs and allow Him to perform miracles in your life today.
In the Gospel of Matthew, the 9th Chapter, we are told of two blind men who cried out to Jesus, asking, “Son of David, have mercy on us.” How did Jesus respond to their request? Scripture records this:

  • Verse 28 says: “And when he was come into the house, the blind men came to him: and Jesus saith unto them, Believe ye that I am able to do this? They said unto him, Yea, Lord. 29. Then He touched their eyes, saying, According to your faith be it unto you.”

What did God do?

Verse 30 says, “And their eyes were opened; and Jesus straitly charged them, saying, See that no man know it.” You do not have to be physically blind before you come to Jesus Christ, however; surrender yourself and let the invisible God and miracle worker perform miracles in your life

IF YOU BELIVE THAT GOD IS CONTINUING TO PERFORM MIRACLES TODAY:

AND WE WILL, BY GOD'S GRACE, COME TO YOUR CITY TO HAVE A REVIVAL WITH GOD'S PEOPLE!

We will continue in the Book of Matthew, and in the same chapter the Apostle wrote about a woman with an issue of blood, who had suffered with this problem for over 12 years.  She had depleted all of her wealth to be cured, but to no avail.  She was in a desperate situation – it was life or death!  Then she heard about Jesus Christ.  She knew in her spirit that if she could just touch the hem of His garment that she would be made whole.

What did God do?

This is what Jesus said to her in verse 22: “Daughter, be of good comfort; thy faith hath made thee whole.” And in the very next sentence He said: “And the woman was made whole from that hour.” What a Mighty God we serve!  Angels bow down before Him and heaven and earth adores Him!  What a miracle working God we have!
There is a brother who recently suffered with severe advanced Arthritis in his two knees. When he went to bed at night, he had to sleep with pillows between his knees to help ease the pain.  So he went to the Doctor who told him he needed to have Knee Replacement Surgery.  The brother asked the Doctor: “How soon can I drive my car?”  The Doctor said: “You will be incapacitated for 6-8 weeks.” The brother asked him: “What’s Plan “B?”  The Doctor told him he could do arthroscopic surgery on his knees and he would be OK.”  About a week later, approximately 7:00AM, the surgery was performed, and at about 11:00AM, the very same day, he walked out of that hospital under his own power!  The pastor’s wife was engulfed with unparalleled surprise when she saw this man walking to his car and she was indeed amazed!  Glory be in the Highest to the Lamb of God!
In the Gospel of Luke, Chapter 4, we are told of how Jesus cast out Demons. If we turn directly to verses 33-36, we shall learn how this all came about:

  • And in the synagogue there was a man, which had a spirit of an unclean devil, and cried out with a loud voice, 34. Saying, Let us alone; what have we to do with thee, thou Jesus of Nazareth? art thou come to destroy us? I know thee who thou art; the Holy One of God.
  • Verse 35 says, “And Jesus rebuked him, saying, Hold thy peace, and come out of him.  And when the devil had thrown him in the midst, he came out of him, and hurt him not. 36. And they were all amazed, and spake among themselves, saying, What a word is this! for with authority and power he commandeth the unclean spirits, and they come out.”

By the spoken Word of Jesus Christ, the devils vacated the man and he was totally healed! The unbelieving people in the crowd were stunned because they had witnessed something they had never seen before!  In essence, the multitude of people were saying, “Who could do things like this?”  We know, don’t we?  Look at what Jesus Christ did.  By the token word from His mouth, He literally changed a man’s life.  This is a quite a vivid miracle.  Who else could do an awesome miracle like this?  No one but our Holy God.
Do you need a miracle in your life today? Call on Jesus Christ the miracle worker.  Jesus Christ is worthy because He is the only One who is capable of changing your sadness to joy, your darkness to light, your cry to laughter and your grief into cheerfulness
Before we continue with the “past miracles,” some who are reading here, could be thinking, “Where is God in my life?  Why hasn’t he come to my rescue?” Those are good questions to ask, and the answer is:  Surrender your life and everything about you to Jesus Christ.  Invite Him into your life if you have not done so, and then let Jesus Christ, the Prince of peace, perform the desperately needed miracles in your life.  Do not wait until your life is already devoured by needless obstructions.
Here’s another real example:  One of the members of the church had a prostate cancer operation a few years ago, and for all intents and purposes, he was gone!  Yet as he testified, when he was literally being carried out of his house, his entire body was being wracked with pain, and he knew he was dying. Through the pain and the agony, this man was praising the Lord in songs knowing he was dying!  Yet he was singing to Jesus Christ, the author and finisher of his faith!  He was also saying, “I will praise You in the good times, and I will praise You in the bad times, Lord!”  He was “gone” for two days in that hospital bed – not knowing “where he was.”  On the third day, in that hospital bed, His Lord Jesus Christ opened up his eyes once again!  He has seen tomorrow and still is!  To God be all the Glory, Honor and Praise!
Let us continue by talking about a man named “Legion.”  In the book of Mark, the 5th Chapter, we find that Jesus Christ had just finished a teaching and had crossed to the other side, to the land of the Gadarenes. There was a crazy man living there who constantly was torturing himself by cutting his body all over with stones, and was not only in constant physical pain, but he was in mental anguish as well.  To put it bluntly: He was demon possessed!  Jesus had barely stepped foot on this land when the man came running to him and said this to The Son of God, in verse 7: “What have I to do with thee, Jesus, thou Son of the most high God? I adjure thee by God, that thou torment me not.”
There are two things that occurred in that sentence.  One: Legion knew exactly WHO this “Man” was, and he called Him by name: “Jesus, thou son of the most high God.”  Even though it is in the form of a question in most bibles, he knew exactly and specifically WHO this “Man” was, Amen?  Next, Legion begged Him: “Please, don’t torture me!”
In verse 8, Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, said: “Come out of the man, thou unclean spirit.”  Hallelujah!  But the story really doesn’t end there, because in verse 9, our Lord asked the man, “What is thy name? And he answered, saying, My name is Legion: for we are many.”  This is where we learn things.  God asked him who he was, and the man said his name was Legion, but he also said: “we are many.”  How many of you picked up on that word, “we?”

So what did God do then?

We urge you to read for yourselves, verses 10-19 of this great revelation to us, because you will find out about many different aspects of this story that perhaps you hadn’t been aware of before.  Briefly, there were over 2,000 demonic spirits inside of Legion!  Jesus had to make a decision, so what did He do?  He cast those evil demonic spirits into a herd of Pigs!  Then, to make sure that none of them got away, the Lord commanded them to run off of a cliff, into the sea, to their death!  Praise God!  Of course, that was the greatest thing our Lord could have done at the time, but guess what?  The towns people, and the owners of those pigs were really upset because they had just lost their livelihood! They now had no more pigs and they begged Jesus Christ to vacate their region.
The main point is that Jesus Christ only spoke the word of authority into this man’s life and all the demonic commotions and disturbances vacated his life.  This miracle apparently channeled the once possessed man to directly receive his freedom in Christ Jesus.  Indeed, Jesus Christ is a miracle working God.
Continuing in the Gospel of Mark, Chapter 4, we learn that Jesus Christ was in a boat, and the Apostle Mark described the encounter as follows:

  • Mark 4:35 And the same day, when the even was come, he saith unto them, Let us pass over unto the other side.  36 And when they had sent away the multitude, they took him even as he was in the ship. And there were also with him other little ships.  37 And there arose a great storm of wind, and the waves beat into the ship, so that it was now full.  38 And he was in the hinder part of the ship, asleep on a pillow: and they awake him, and say unto him, Master, carest thou not that we perish?”  Verse 39 says, “And he arose, and rebuked the wind, and said unto the sea, Peace, be still. And the wind

ceased, and there was a great calm.  40 And he said unto them, Why are ye so fearful? how is it that ye have no faith?  41 And they feared exceedingly, and said one to another, What manner of man is this, that even the wind and the sea obey him?

Only Jesus Christ has the power to perform miracles in your life by turning your impossibilities to possibilities, the rough road of your life to a smooth and a balanced altitude road.
Can we be real and down to earth with you for just a moment here?  Imagine that it was you or me in that boat.  We had already seen Jesus turn a loaf of bread and 3 fishes into where our amazing God multiplied them into enough to feed 5,000 people! (How we would have loved being at thatservice, Amen?)  We had seen that LAZARUS was RAISED FROM THE DEAD, how? By three Words from Christ Jesus: “Lazarus, come forth!”  We just read about a dear brother in the Lord that was brought back to life as well recently, to dwell among us, so we ask you:
Is there anything too difficult for God?  Is there any problem in your life that you just cannot run away from-you cannot figure out?

“Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and today, and forever.”

Jesus Christ was the same when He was the burning bush in the book of Genesis; He was the same when He was Melchizedek, in the books of Genesis and Psalms. He was the same when He came from heaven to earth in human form, to reconcile man back to God for our sins!  He was the same in the book of Matthew, when He was in the boat to save His supposedly drowning disciples!  He was the same when he changed Saul to Paul in the book of Acts.  More importantly, Jesus Christ is still the same today, tomorrow, next week, next month, next year, and certainly, generation after generations!  He remains perfectly the same.  He never changes!  No matter what your circumstances are. We change, unquestionably He does not!
We must repeat: Only Jesus Christ can assist you with all of your problems and the things you don’t understand.  Jesus Christ is the miracle maker of the bible!  Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you… says Jesus Christ.  He desires to make miracles happen in your life!   Since He performed all of these great miracles we have learned of.  By now, it should be apparent that He wants to perform miracles in your life as well.  Would you allow Him to perform miracles in your life today?  Please:  Prayerfully consider this question to our Lord and Savior.

Back in the days of our Lord Jesus, Leprosy was the prevailing disease then, just as Cancer and HIV is today in this age. It was in Matthew 8 where Jesus had an encounter with a man whose body was invaded with leprosy.  Jesus had just come down from preaching and teaching the Sermon on the Mount, and the multitudes were still following Him.  In verses 2-4, it is written:

  • 2. “And, behold, there came a leper and worshipped him, saying, Lord, if thou wilt, thou canst make me clean. 3. And Jesus put forth his hand, and touched him, saying, I will; be thou clean.

What did God do?

And immediately his leprosy was cleansed. 4. And Jesus saith unto him, See thou tell no man; but go thy way, shew thyself to the priest, and offer the gift that Moses commanded, for a testimony unto them.”   Again Jesus Christ spoke to this man’s leprosy, and his contagious disease evaporated.
If we were to recap all of these miracles, we clearly see that God the Father, Jesus Christ the Son and His Holy Spirit, the Comforter, have performed great miracles for His creation: mankind.
